No fewer than eleven political parties in Cross River State have united for the sole objective of removing incumbent Governor, Senator Bassey Otu from power in 2027.
Following an important meeting in Calabar yesterday, the coalition was established.
Prior to the federal elections in 2027, the ten political parties’ leaders unanimously decided to form the coalition.
The group mocked the administration and expressed disapproval of the APC’s leadership in the state.
They tasked the ruling party with restoring good governance and guaranteeing accountability and openness in the state’s daily operations.
The Coalition cautioned the ruling APC not to kneel on the neck of democracy and turn the state into a one-party state in a statement signed by Rev. Omaleko Efut Omaleko, the APGA’s state chairman and director of communication and strategy.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Allied People’s Movement, APM, Boot Party, BP, Labour Party, LP, Social Democratic Party, SDP, and Young Progressives Party, YPP, were among the party chairmen that attended the meeting.
Representatives were sent by the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), and others.
