In Kaduna State, over 10,000 members of the Labour Party (LP) have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

When he welcomed the decampees in Kaduna on Saturday, the state chairman of ADC, Alhaji Tijjani Mustapha stated,  “To our 10,000 decampees from the Labour Party, we welcome you with open arms to the ADC family. Your decision to join us is a testament to our shared vision for a better Kaduna State and Nigeria, and we are excited to have you on board.”

According to him, their inclusion in the party represents a critical turning point in the process of bringing about constructive democratic change in Kaduna State and the country as a whole.

Alexander Adanu was also introduced by the party’s state chairman as the party’s nominee for the 2025 House of Representatives by-election for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.

Alexander Igoji Adamu, speaking on behalf of the decampees, expressed gratitude to the ADC for embracing them and said that the party’s dedication to diversity and inclusivity is demonstrated by their readiness to do so.

According to him, “Our decision to join the ADC is a reflection of our shared desire for a better Nigeria, where transparency, accountability, and good governance reign supreme.”

Additionally, he conveyed his appreciation to the ADC for selecting him as their candidate for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election to the House of Representatives in 2025.

Adamu assured, “As we embark on this new journey, let us remember that our collective goal is to build a Nigeria that works for all its citizens—a Nigeria where every individual has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.”
