200 Farmers to Receive Empowerment in Nigeria; State Revealed.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has empowered over 200 individuals in Anambra State through her Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Programme. The beneficiaries underwent a two-day hands-on training in various areas, including feed processing, drip irrigation installation, vegetable farming, and piggery. Each successful trainee received basic start-up tools to execute their chosen areas of study.

At the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor, presented the empowerment items on behalf of Senator Tinubu. “The process took note of individual criteria for the training and empowerment programs while the selection criteria ensured equal representation of different women groups, youth organizations, political associations, and school clubs,” Soludo’s wife explained.

Describing economic empowerment as a core objective of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Soludo’s wife said, “The Renewed Hope Agricultural Support Program is a medium-scale agro-support initiative that targets individuals across different age groups who are passionate about earning a living through agro-businesses.”

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, expressed optimism about the initiative’s potential to transform agriculture in the state. Commissioner for Women Affairs, Ify Obinabo, commended Mrs. Soludo for her leadership, saying the program applies the “don’t give me fish, teach me how to fish” principle.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Foster Ihejiofor, praised Tinubu’s wife for extending the initiative to the state, emphasizing agriculture’s importance to the economy. Beneficiaries Queen Anigbogu, Raphael Onwughalu, Chinyere Udeozor, and Hillary Obiajulu expressed gratitude, saying the empowerment tools would greatly benefit their agricultural practices.
