Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has issued a warning to Nigeria’s opponents, declaring that their remaining matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will be “war.”

Osimhen played a crucial role in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the World Cup qualifier on Friday evening at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. The Napoli forward scored both goals, helping the Super Eagles climb to fourth place in Group C.

Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers will see them face Zimbabwe, Rwanda, South Africa, Lesotho, and Benin Republic. The team cannot afford to drop any points if they are to secure qualification for next year’s World Cup.

Currently, Nigeria sits behind South Africa, Benin, and Rwanda in the Group C standings.

Speaking at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, after the Super Eagles’ return from Rwanda, Osimhen said, as quoted by the NFF’s official website:

“We are ready.

“The remaining matches are wars, and we must fight them with all that we have to win.”
