According to ESPN, the official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to take place on December 5 in Las Vegas.
FIFA selected the U.S. city as the host location after deciding against options in Canada and Mexico. The upcoming tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
For the first time, the World Cup will feature 48 national teams, expanding from the traditional 32-team format.
“December 5, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December,” Pachuca executive Pedro Cedillo said.
“I understand it will be in Las Vegas, and that’s where we need to be present to provide information about the city of Pachuca, the state of Hidalgo and the two venues we have.”
Notably, the last time the U.S. hosted the tournament in 1994, the draw was also held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
