2027: PDP’s boasts empty, mere illusion – APC

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has made hollow and illusory claims that it will defeat it in the general elections of 2027, according to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

This statement was released in Lagos on Thursday by Mr. Seye Oladejo, the spokesman for the Lagos State APC.

In reaction to a recent assertion by the PDP that only the former ruling party possessed the “structure and strength” necessary to defeat the APC in the general elections of 2027, Oladejo made the statement.

Oladejo said that such “political daydreaming” should often be written off as the standard rhetoric of an opposition party that is desperate to remain relevant. He also said that the APC had been compelled to correct the record for the sake of the public and in support of facts above fiction.

“PDP’s claim of possessing the structure and strength to defeat APC is both laughable and detached from the current political reality in Nigeria.

“What structure is the PDP referring to — the same disjointed, crisis-ridden and fragmented formation that has failed to present a united front since 2015? Or the same “strength” that has led to serial losses at the polls, mass defections of key figures and internal implosions across states?

“It is clear that the PDP is yet to recover from the political rejection it suffered over the past decade — a rejection rooted in its legacy of corruption, impunity and squandered national opportunities,” he said.
