2027: Tinubu unanimous endorsement not a surprise – APC group reveals

A faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC), known as the Asiwaju Political Movement (APM), has expressed that the decision to endorse President Bola Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate was entirely expected.

Both the Progressives Governors’ Forum and APC lawmakers in the National Assembly had, on Thursday, declared Tinubu the only contender for the party’s ticket in the 2027 presidential race.

Their endorsement was based on the claim that he had significantly improved the country’s situation and should contest the election without facing any internal competition.

In response, Hon. Madiba Monday Ledum, the APM’s Director-General, emphasized that Tinubu’s achievements during his two years in power speak for themselves.

In a statement made available to journalists on Friday, Ledum described the endorsement as a “bold confirmation of President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, transformative governance, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Nigeria.”

“This resounding show of support by the APC leadership is not just an endorsement— it is a testament to the renewed confidence in President Tinubu’s capacity to lead Nigeria into a more prosperous future.

“Under his stewardship, we have seen critical reforms, infrastructure revival, and bold economic decisions that will shape our nation for generations,” he stated.

He went on to commend the unity displayed by APC members across the nation, noting that it reflects a strong and united front in preparation for the 2027 elections.

Ledum confirmed that APM fully supports what he termed a landmark endorsement, and encouraged citizens to stand behind the president.

“President Tinubu has a clear roadmap for national development. We must all join hands to ensure this vision is fulfilled,” he concluded.
