Fresh tension has enveloped residents of the Byazhin Across area of Kubwa in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, following another kidnapping incident that reportedly claimed the life of a local vigilante member and left four residents abducted.

ZINGTIE gathered that the armed men invaded the community behind the Catholic Church area at about 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, firing multiple gunshots as terrified residents scrambled for safety.

Sources within the community disclosed that the attackers stormed several homes during the operation and abducted four residents, including an 11-year-old child.

Residents told our correspondent that a vigilante member who sustained gunshot wounds during the attack was later confirmed dead after being rushed to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses further alleged that the gunmen also made away with food items from some of the affected houses before escaping from the area.

The latest incident has intensified fears among residents, who lamented that the community has continued to experience repeated security breaches in recent months.

One resident described the development as disturbing, saying the recurring attacks have forced many families to live in constant fear.

“This repeated attack on Byazhin Across is causing huge fear in us. Nowhere is safe. President Tinubu, even your FCT is not safe,” the resident said.

Another resident questioned the effectiveness of security operations in the area, alleging that attacks have persisted despite regular patrols by security personnel.

“The Army only patrol and nothing is done. There’s repeated attack. This time the bandits came with a bus. We are not safe,” the resident said.
