A man in keke was coughing, I told him sorry, not knowing he was doing this to me – Victim narrates

SP Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer Edafe Bright recently exhibited a gang of crooks nicknamed as “Keke” who were experts at stealing phones from gullible tricycle riders.

One of their victims described his experience during the procession in a 1:15 video that TVC released. He said that when he got on their Keke, there were already two people on board, including the rider, for a total of three.

He claimed that while they were travelling, one of the passengers started coughing uncontrollably, and he was not aware that this was a calculated diversion to steal his phone.

According to the victim, he discovered his phone was gone when he checked his pocket after arriving at his destination.

In the victim’s words: “I met two guys inside the keke including the keke rider making it three. On our way coming, one of them started coughing and I was telling him ‘guy sorry’ not knowing he was trying to steal my phone from me. So when I got to where I wanted to stop, I checked my pocket and I couldn’t find my phone”
