The African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) Forum of State chairmen have reaffirmed their faith in the party’s national leadership, which is headed by former Senate President David Mark.

This was said in a statement released on Friday in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi state, by Kingsley Temitope Ogga, the chairman of the Forum and the party’s Kogi State chairman.

The party chairmen in Benue and Nasarawa States are acting as though they are the forum’s leadership, therefore Ogga warned the public to be cautious of their shenanigans.

He claims that Hon. Leke Abejide, the sole member chosen on the party’s platform, is still suspended from the party indefinitely and that he lacks the authority to speak for the ADC.

“We, members of the Forum of State Chairmen of the ADC in 34 states and the FCT, are using this opportunity to reaffirm our support in the leadership of the party as led by Senator David Mark. We stand by the new NWC led by him and all other members of the national leadership of the ADC.

“We are also aware of the anti-party activities of the chairmen of Nasarawa and Benue state chapters of the party, who were recruited for negative media propaganda against the leadership of our party.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it must be stated that the duo have no locus to act on behalf of the party as the leaders of the forum,” he stated.

He insisted that Abejide had been working against the ADC’s interests recently by trying to transfer the party covertly to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in advance of the general election in 2027.
