AFCON 2023: Peseiro not thinking about revenge against Guinea-Bissau

Jose Peseiro, head coach of the Super Eagles, has stated that he has no plans to exact retribution before his team plays Guinea-Bissau in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

During the qua;ifiers, the Djurtus beat the Super Eagles 1-0 in Abuja.

On Monday (today), the two teams will play again at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Peseiro stated that his main goal is to assist the Super Eagles in defeating Baciro Cande’s team.

“We are not thinking about revenge, but we are here to top the group, and they are in our sights.

“We must do what has to be done. Guinea Bissau have no point and will play with freedom, and that is when a team becomes dangerous,” Peseiro said during pre-match press conference.

Nigeria has four points from two games, good for second place in the group.

The Super Eagles will need just one point to guarantee their spot in Round 16.
