African Games 2023: Egypt maintain lead as Nigeria, South Africa make top 10

Egypt dominates the medal ranking table at the ongoing All-African Games in Ghana.

Egypt continued to lead the medal standings as of Wednesday morning, thanks to their outstanding results in several categories, including swimming, table tennis, and wrestling.

The North Africans solidified their position at the top of the medal table by winning first place in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

They continue to hold the top spot with 165 medals (92 gold, 40 silver, and 33 bronze) thus far.

Nigeria comes in second with 85 medals (thirty-one gold, twenty-two silver, and thirty-two bronze).

Algeria, Tunisia, South Africa, and Nigeria are the top five countries.

Ghana, the host country, is ranked sixth in the medal standings.

Ethiopia, Morocco, Eritrea, Mauritius, and Eritrea round out the current top 10.
