Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, has announced a $1 million gift from alumna Sarah Herring (’66, H ’01) in support of the Furman Women’s Impact Network (FurmanWIN). The group, which started in 2019 with 21 alumnae, aims to develop meaningful relationships among alumni and with the university
Herring, a founding member of FurmanWIN, said her gift will support the group’s endowed fund, which provides scholarships, experiential learning opportunities, and other student stipends. “I see scholarships as the best way to seed for the future,” Herring said. “It’s a win that goes far beyond what the dollars alone do.”
The gift will help FurmanWIN continue its mission to organise and engage alumni, promoting leadership and philanthropy among women. The initiative has grown significantly since its inception, and Herring’s donation will support the group’s efforts to empower future generations of women leaders
