The All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Anambra gubernatorial election has been secured by Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu.
He won the governorship ticket during the primary conducted on Saturday.
In the contest, Ukachukwu triumphed against Valentine Ozigbo, his nearest rival.
Valentine received 67 votes, while Nicholas received 1,455.
The next significant off-circle election in Nigeria will be for the governorship of Anambra State, which is scheduled for November 2025.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, or APGA, the state’s ruling party, has already selected Governor Chukwuma Soludo as its nominee.
Ukachukwu promised to turn the state over to the APC in a statement following his announcement as the primary election winner.
He said, “We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here, nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before.
“I have been playing godfatherism, but now I want to be the father of the father, no more godfather.”
