Anchor University Lagos (AUL) is set to hold a combined convocation ceremony for its 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions, graduating a total of 292 students. The ceremony, scheduled for Friday, will confer first degrees on 106 and 160 students from both sessions, as well as 30 graduates from the university’s top-up programs.

Professor Samuel Oye Bandele, Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University, briefed the press on the upcoming ceremony and highlighted the institution’s mission to empower students to become leaders who positively impact society. “Our vision is centered on providing holistic education, raising God-fearing leaders, delivering world-class education, and fostering moral and spiritual development,” he said.

The university aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive positive change in Nigeria and beyond. “Our students are not just learning for personal success, but for the greater good of society,” Professor Bandele emphasized.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to upholding high moral values, expecting students to demonstrate virtues such as dependability, discipline, diligence, and decency in both their academic and personal lives.

The Vice-Chancellor also shared updates on the university’s expansion, including the approval of new programs in Physiology and Software Engineering by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Additionally, Anchor University is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, to offer postgraduate programs.

Professor Bandele congratulated the university’s founding father, Pastor William Kumuyi, the Board of Trustees, management, and staff for their efforts in maintaining the institution’s core values.
