A mother was caught on camera assaulting her 14-year-old son after she barged onto the school bus carrying her 13-year-old son to confront a “bully.”
After allegedly boarding the bus in Indianapolis with her son and 17-year-old daughter, Latea Hentz, 36, has been charged with a number of offenses, including violence and criminal trespassing.
On the morning of March 6, Fox 59 claimed that Hentz was caught on camera instructing her children to “beat his a**, beat his a**” before beating the eighth-grader and yanking his hair.
According to IndyStar, the 14-year-old was eventually sent to the hospital with a broken nose, bruises, and an eye injury.
Police detained all three family members before they were arrested and charged with misdemeanor violence and disorderly behavior. Hentz was also charged with criminal trespassing, criminal confinement, and intimidation.
When Hentz first boarded the bus with her two children, she said, “I’m going to tear this up.”
The driver asked for police assistance and told the mother that parents were not permitted as she boarded.
According to IndyStar, her daughter allegedly asked her brother “which one is it” before asking him to “take off his coat,” which caused him to start fighting with the other student.
According to court documents, Hentz quarreled with the bus driver and screamed at the student while the two boys battled before his sister joined in: “You’re not going to touch my son again.”
Hentz allegedly said to the kids, “I’m tired of you b*** a** kids,” as she got off the bus. Want to go active, anyone?
She subsequently informed the police that she had addressed the eighth-grader due to a “continuing bullying situation” between her son and the 14-year-old.
According to court filings, her son informed police that the eighth-grader had been harassing him for weeks, even after he told school officials.
According to Law & Crime, Hentz reported to the authorities that the older boy had smacked the 13-year-old across the face.
The 13-year-old grabbed Hentz’s son after the older child said he had gone to sit on the bus and his hand had touched his face or hair, according to IndyStar.
