In Abia State, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) held its State Congress and chose Kelechi Apugo to be its chairman.

This follows the Ward and Local Government Congress’s earlier conclusion.

Together with other party executives, Apugo was elected as the State’s interim chairman of the NNPP during the Congress in Umuahia.

According to delegates, Apugo’s work as interim chairman led to his election as party chairman.

The chairman of the Abia State NNPP responded that as 2027 approached, his party was now concentrating on using its potential to seize Abia.

He went on to say that the NNPP was a powerful party with a national following and a platform focused on the needs of the people.
