Troops from the 3 Division under Operation SAFE HAVEN have eliminated two armed criminals and seized weapons and other items during a raid in Plateau State.

According to a statement issued by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the media information officer for Operation SAFE HAVEN, the operation was carried out on May 12, 2025, following credible intelligence.

During the raid, troops engaged the bandits and overpowered them with superior firepower, resulting in the death of two suspects.

The soldiers also recovered a range of items, including one AK-47 rifle, a magazine for the same weapon, a locally-made firearm capable of firing 7.62 mm (Special) rounds, seven rounds of ammunition, four mobile phones, two motorcycles, and cash totaling ₦157,900.

The statement noted that the recovered arms are now in military custody, while the mobile devices are being analyzed to assist in tracking down additional members of the gang.

It further assured residents that troops will continue to deal decisively with criminal elements, maintaining aggressive operations aimed at restoring and securing peace in the region.
