August 1 protest plot to massacre Igbos – Pro Biafra coalition

According to COPROBIG, a coalition of pro-Biafra groups, the August 1–10, 2024, hardship protest is a secret plot to slaughter Igbo people.

This was stated by the Coalition in a statement released on Sunday and signed by seven other people, including Uche Madu of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra.

This comes after the Coalition informed Presidential Media Assistant Bayo Onanuga that the planned August 2024 hardship demonstration would not be put to an end by blaming Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, and Ndigbo.

The group claims that the planned rally is a cunning scheme to drag Ndigbo youths to their untimely deaths.

In order to avert what the organisation claimed was a planned genocidal plot against the Ndigbo people through the protest, Igbos should go about their normal business within the period of the planned protest.

“To avoid the genocidal plot of the federal government that will result in massive killings of Biafrans involved in the coming nationwide protest, COPROBIG declared that there will be no sit-at-home in Biafra land during the weeklong national protest.

“That the cancellation of any public pro-Biafra activities will not give Nigeria security agencies the opportunity to kill the people of Biafra.

“That the planned weeklong national protest is a subtle plot to lure the youths of Ndigbo to their early graves.

“That the people of Biafra should go about their normal businesses of the day”, the Coalition said.

ZINGTIE recalls that the Take It Back Movement, in response to the rising cost of living and hardship in Nigeria, made plans for a planned nationwide protest.

In order to request protection during the protest, the TIB movement wrote to the Department of State Service and the Nigeria Police Force through its attorney, Adegboruwa Ebun-Olu.

To guarantee protection, demonstrators were requested to furnish specifics by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

There have been arguments in favour of and against the scheduled protest over the past few weeks.

The intended protesters were asked to postpone their plans to take to the streets by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governors, and Ministers.
