Nigerian philanthropist, Chief Kessington Adebutu, is sponsoring a major project at Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State. The project involves the construction of a six-floor, three-block building, which will be named the Dame Caroline Kessington Adebutu (KJV) School of Pharmacy in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Caroline Oladunni Adebutu.

The project is significant in Nigeria’s health sector, aiming to address the growing issue of counterfeit drugs. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ademola Tayo stated that the project will enhance the fight against fake drugs and boost research in addressing various health problems in Nigeria. “This initiative aligns with Babcock University’s mission to provide top-tier healthcare education and contribute to the improvement of Nigeria’s health sector,” he said.

Prof. Tayo emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards throughout the project’s execution. Prof. Ezekiel Adeniran, Associate Vice President for Works and Physical Planning, promised that the project would be completed with integrity and without compromising on quality.

Jide Idowu, CEO of CadTech, stated that the building will be completed by October this year, adding, “We are committed to delivering the project on time and to the required standards.” Chief Kessington Adebutu’s philanthropic efforts are well-known, and this project is another example of his commitment to education and healthcare development in Nigeria.
