This year’s Ballon d’Or final top 30 ranking features just three African footballers.
The selected players are Mohamed Salah from Egypt, Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy.
All three delivered standout performances for their respective clubs over the past year.
Salah played a key role in Liverpool’s Premier League triumph and emerged as the league’s top scorer.
Hakimi, on the other hand, helped Paris Saint-Germain clinch titles in the UEFA Champions League, French Ligue 1, and the French Cup last season.
Guirassy made a significant impact for Dortmund in both their Champions League run and FIFA Club World Cup appearances, notably scoring against Madrid in the knockout round.
Earlier, it was reported that the shortlist of nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or edition was unveiled by France Football, the award’s organizers.
The selection was compiled by prominent journalists from around the globe.
