A recent assault on Dunkawa, a community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, has resulted in the kidnapping of no fewer than four individuals by suspected bandits.
The incident, which took place late Friday night, was disclosed by security expert Bakatsine in a Saturday morning post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
As per the post, heavily armed attackers invaded Dunkawa under the cover of night and abducted four locals, plunging the area into panic and uncertainty.
“Last night, bandits attacked the Dunkawa community in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State, abducting four people during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.
Dunkawa is situated in the Sokoto East Senatorial Zone, a region that has increasingly suffered from violent raids and frequent abductions in recent times, with multiple communities experiencing repeated assaults.
At the time of reporting, no official statement had been issued by local authorities concerning the event.
