Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to attend the burial of prominent businessman and statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Ismail Mudashir, the media aide to Senator Barau.
According to the release, both Barau and Ganduje left Abuja on Monday evening and arrived at the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madina at 5:15 a.m. local time. They were accompanied by other dignitaries from Kano and various parts of the country.
The delegation includes Kano APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Senator Muntari Dandutse, who chairs the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND; Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Ali Madaki; and Hon. Sani Bala.
Also present are Ahmad Munzali Dantata, son of the late businessman; Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, representing Makoda/Dambatta in the National Assembly; and Usman Yahaya Kansila, among others.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata, renowned for his philanthropic work and industrial achievements, passed away over the weekend in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
He is scheduled to be buried on Tuesday in Madina, beside his wife, Rabi’a, who died last year.
