After a drone strike on his house, the Israeli leader issued a harsh warning to Iran and “its proxies.”

After a drone from Lebanon attacked his holiday house, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hezbollah, an armed group backed by Iran, of trying to kill him and his wife.

Three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) carrying explosives were observed flying towards Caesarea, a beach town in northern Israel, on Saturday morning. The Israel Defence Force (IDF) stopped two drones, and a third one detonated close to the prime minister’s home. There were casualties on the ground, and Netanyahu and his spouse were not at home when the strike occurred.

Although Hezbollah did not take credit for the Caesarea strike, the pro-Palestinian organisation declared new attacks on north and central Israel on Saturday, according to Al Jazeera.

Netanyahu sent a stern warning to Hezbollah and its backers in Tehran in a statement on X.The prime minister stated that the incident “will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future,” adding that the attempt to kill him and his wife today by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah was a serious error.

“I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price,” he continued. In addition to facilitating the safe return of Israeli citizens to the border areas with Lebanon, which have been regularly targeted by Hezbollah fire, the PM promised to free the remaining Israeli hostages that Hamas has kept in Gaza.

“Israel is determined to achieve all our war objectives and change the security reality in our region for generations to come,”he concluded.

Since October 2023, Hezbollah strikes have displaced almost 70,000 Israelis from their homes. Last month, the IDF stepped up its attacks in Lebanon, killing a number of senior Hezbollah members, including Hassan Nasrallah, the group’s long-time leader. According to the country’s Health Ministry, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed over 2,000 people overall.

Hezbollah declared on Friday that it was going into “a new and escalatory phase” in its military conflict with the Jewish State. In support of the Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel has been fighting Hamas for more than a year, the group pledged to keep firing rockets and drones across the border.
