– Plaiting or weaving hair by male students

– Wearing colored eyeglasses in classrooms (not on medical grounds)

– Wearing bathroom slippers in classrooms (not on medical grounds)

– Wearing trousers that stop between knee and ankle

– Having multi-color braids or colored hair styling

– Having dreadlocks or spangle hair styles

– Tattoos and piercings (lip plugs/discs, mouth plates, nose rings, and eyelets)

– Wearing ankle chains or long eyelashes (for females)

– Sagging/ass-down clothing

– Engaging in intimate open embracing or sitting on each other’s laps

The university warned that students and staff who fail to comply with the dress code would face sanctions, including being sent out of the classroom, library, office, or clinic. “The following descriptions and elements henceforth constitute indecent and offensive dressing as well as unacceptable appearance in public spaces in the university, and are considered as acts of misconduct,” the university stated.

The introduction of the dress code aims to promote a more professional and respectful atmosphere within the campus, and ensure that students and staff adhere to a standard of dress that is consistent with the university’s values
