BREAKING: NNPP senator, Kawu defects to APC

On Wednesday, Senator Kawu Samaila of Kano South formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

On the Senate floor, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Kawu’s letter of defection.

Senators on the APC platform gathered in large numbers to welcome Kawu to the party after reading the letter.

They then guided him to his new seat on the majority-members’ side of the party.

Rumor has it that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s presidential contender in the general election of 2023, plans to join the APC.

According to ZINGTIE, Kwankwaso’s recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu served as a catalyst for the development.
