BREAKING: Police teargas 16 sacked Plateau PDP lawmakers

Armed officers used tear gas on Tuesday to scatter PDP MPs who had been dismissed from the Plateau State House of Assembly grounds.

After being dismissed by the Court of Appeal, the 16 PDP lawmakers showed up at the Assembly Complex on Tuesday and demanded to be allowed to participate in the House session.

Prior to the start of plenary again on Tuesday, ZINGTIE had reported that the legislators and their supporters had arrived at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos.

The troubled members had pledged not to leave the Government House premises, so police officers and other security personnel rushed the building to prevent the fired lawmakers from entering the House of Assembly chambers.
