BREAKING: Suspected suicide bomber killed in Abuja explosion

One person was murdered Monday in Abuja by an explosion that was thought to be triggered by a bomb.

The blast, which was allegedly caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), also injured another individual.

AIT reported that an eyewitness — a military personnel who did not provide his identity – stated the man, thought to be a suicide bomber, was murdered by an explosive hidden in a rubber container close to Mogadishu Barrack in Abuja

Military officials on the location, however, stated that the issue might not be an IED but rather an explosion from a phone gadget.

Military, DSS, police, and National Emergency Management Agency (NEM) officers were still conducting situational assessments at the time of this report.
