Bundesliga: Boniface faces ban for unsportsmanlike gesture

Due to suspension, Victor Boniface might miss Bayer Leverkusen’s first Bundesliga match of the year against Borussia Monchengladbach.

For his unsportsmanlike actions during Die Werkself’s German Super Cup victory over VFB Stuttgart last weekend, Boniface is under investigation.

Should the Nigerian international be proven guilty, the German Football Association will impose sanctions.

A spokesperson told Die Tageszeitung, “Boniface is suspected of having shown the Stuttgart players the finger when he ran past them just after the final whistle,”

For Xabi Alonso’s team, the striker opened the score in the match.

On Friday, Bayer Leverkusen will take on Borussia Monchengladbach in their title defence.
