Champions League: Six Serie A clubs could qualify for next season’s competition

Six Serie A teams may qualify for the Champions League the following season.

This comes after Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 on Wednesday in the Europa League final.

With a magnificent hat-trick by Ademola Lookman, the Italian team won their first major championship since 1963.

Italy and Germany have already secured a fifth Champions League spot thanks to their higher coefficient ratings before Atalanta’s victory.

But if they maintain their fifth-place finish in the Serie A standings, their victory will guarantee Italy six spots in the Champions League.

As the fifth league qualifier, Roma, sure to finish sixth, would advance to the Champions League.
