On Tuesday night, the first two teams were knocked out of this season’s Champions League.

They are Villarreal and Kairat Almaty, currently sitting in the 35th and 36th positions during the league phase.

After losing to Club Brugge and Ajax, both teams have exited the competition.

Ajax defeated Villareal 2-1, and Kairat suffered a heavy loss to Club Brugge, with a score of 4-1.

After seven matches, both teams possess only one point each.

The new format allows for 24 out of the 36 participating clubs to advance to the knockout phase.

The top eight, however, go directly into the Round of 16.
