London, UK In an incredible feat of endurance and determination, charity founder, Sarah Jones, has completed a solo trek across Antarctica, raising an astonishing £150,000 for Wickers, a London-based charity that tackles knife and gun crime.
The gruelling trek, which took 21 days to complete, saw Sarah battle against extreme temperatures, crevasses, and blizzards to reach the finish line. She covered a distance of over 350 miles, facing temperatures as low as -40°C and winds of up to 50mph.
Sarah’s remarkable achievement has inspired countless people and has made a significant impact on Wickers’ vital work. The charity’s programs focus on education, employment, and mentoring, helping young people to build positive futures and break the cycle of violence
“Wickers is thrilled and grateful for Sarah’s incredible support,” said John Smith, CEO of Wickers. “The £150,000 raised will go directly towards our programs, which provide vital support and guidance to young people affected by knife and gun crime.”
Sarah’s trek was sponsored by several prominent businesses, including British Airways and Patagonia. She also received support from several high-profile celebrities, including actor Idris Elba and musician Stormzy
