There is currently crisis in the Ondo State police command after an Inspector in the Nigeria Police Force, Yusuf Suleiman Blessing, also known as BS Omo Alahaja, died in strange circumstances while serving at Akotogbo in Ondo State’s Irele Local Government Area.

BS Omo Alhaja, a 50-year-old native of Ikoro Ekiti in Ekiti state, was burned to death with no description of how the crime happened.

His wife was alleged to have complained that 24 hours after unsuccessful attempts to contact her husband, she received a call from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) informing her that he had drowned.

The wife stated that his husband’s coworkers informed her that his remains would be taken to the Osi community the next day.

According to eyewitness accounts, the body arrived sealed in a casket.

This prompted family and friends to demand to examine the remains, but the three officers refused and fled, leaving the coffin and truck in front of his family home.

When the casket was opened, the body was found to be charred with a broken skull, contradicting the first assertion that he drowned and raising more suspicions of foul play.

When reached, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that more information would be supplied after investigations.
