College Receives $10 Million Anonymous Gift to Support Campus Renovations.

Livingstone College, a private historically Black college in Salisbury, North Carolina, has received a generous $10 million gift from an anonymous donor. This donation is the second $10 million gift from the same unnamed benefactor, following a similar contribution in July 2024.

The funds will be used to support the college’s ongoing capital campaign, specifically for renovations and upgrades to the Goler Hall and Honors Hall student residences. This project is part of Livingstone’s “Miracle on Monroe Street” construction initiative, aimed at transforming the campus and providing students with modern, state-of-the-art facilities.

According to HBCU Gameday, Livingstone College has a student body of fewer than 1,000 students. Since Anthony J. Davis (’01) became the school’s 13th president in October 2022, the college has received an impressive $40 million in private contributions, demonstrating a significant surge in support for the institution.

This financial momentum has coincided with a 13 percent rise in student enrollment, outpacing Livingstone’s public HBCU counterparts across the state. The college’s growing popularity is attributed to its commitment to academic excellence, community engagement, and providing students with a nurturing environment that fosters success.
