Messi participated for sixty minutes as his nation defeated Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America 2024 championship game.
The 37-year-old has already won 45 pieces of cutlery throughout his career.
Messi surpasses the initial record of 44 set by former Barcelona colleague Dani Alves.
Messi won six trophies with Argentina, including the Copa America 2021 and Copa America 2024, and 35 club championships during his time at Barcelona.
In addition to winning eight Ballon d’Or awards, the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medallist.
Messi added three titles to his collection after joining PSG in 2021: the Trophee des Champions (2022), the Ligue 1 (2021–22), and the 2022–23 championship.
Along with Argentina, he also won the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 Leagues Cup cup with Inter Miami.
