Court perpetually restrains Bayero, 4 others from parading as Emirs

Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of Kano State High Court 17 has permanently barred Aminu Ado Bayero and the other four dethroned Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from posing as emirs.

In addition, the court barred the 15th Emir of Kano and the other four Emirs from presenting themselves as the Emirs of Bichi, Gaya, Rano, Karaye, or themselves, as well as from using slaves, privies, or any other individuals they may have chosen. The court made this ruling on Monday.

In order to prevent the 15th Emir of Aminu Ado Bayero and the other four Emirs of Karaye, Bichi, Rano, and Gaya from presenting themselves as Emirs, the Kano State administration filed a complaint with the State High.

Additionally, the Deposed Emirs were given 48 hours by the Government to leave their separate Palaces after being deposed.

When delivering her ruling, Presiding Judge Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu stated that the question of evicting Aminu Ado Bayero, the deposed emir, from his Nassarawa palace belonged before the Rent Tribunal and was not appropriate for her court to hear.

However, the judge ordered Aminu Ado Bayero, the deposed emir, and the other four people to promptly turn over all Emirate Traditional Royal Artefacts to the government and Muhammadu Sanusi, the legitimate emir of Kano ii.

The State Assembly Emirate Council Repealed Law 2024, according to Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, was carried out in accordance with the law as codified in Federal Republic of Nigeria Constitution section 4.

Subsequently, she declared that the approval of the law by State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is also done perfectly according to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
