Ambassador Umar Damagun, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) acting national chairman, has denied rumors that he resigned, calling them untrue and an intentional effort to mislead the people.
His personal assistant, Nuru Shehu Jos, stated in a statement on Saturday that Damagun is still in office and that the National Chairman is guaranteed a four-year term by the party’s constitution.
The PDP urged the people to disregard the bogus information and refuted allegations that the resignation story was obtained from Arise News.
As the PDP solidifies its position ahead of the 2027 elections, the party urged members and stakeholders to stay together and cautioned anyone propagating the misinformation to stop or face legal action.
