In the aftermath of the devastating flood in central Texas, which has claimed at least 120 lives and left 173 people missing, numerous organizations and individuals have stepped forward to offer support. A total of $5 million has been committed by the H-E-B grocery store chain, the Butt family, and the H.E. Butt Foundation, with $2 million directed to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

Other notable contributions include:

– $3 million from Methodist Healthcare Ministries

– $1 million from Kerrville jeweler James Avery

– $100,000 from Whataburger restaurant chain

– $100,000 from the David and Nicole Tepper Foundation to Global Empowerment Mission

– $1 million from Michael Dell and his wife, Susan, through their family foundation

The GoFundMe platform has also seen significant activity, with over 150 campaigns raising more than $1 million. Financial institutions, including Frost Bank, Security Service Federal Credit Union, and USAA, have each contributed $500,000

Corporate support includes:

– $1.25 million from Ford Motor Company and its Texas dealerships

– $600,000 from Toyota Motor North America and its Texas dealerships

– $1 million from Waste Management

– $500,000 from Humana Foundation

– $500,000 from Walmart (including a $250,000 match of customer donations)

Several professional sports franchises have also made significant contributions, including:

– $1 million each from the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers

– $2 million combined from the NBA and the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets

– $2 million combined from the NFL Foundation and the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and Minnesota Vikings

These donations will help provide humanitarian aid and disaster relief to those affected by the flood.
