Lagos, Nigeria – The Empowering Africans through Education Initiative (EAE) has launched the BeMINT Project, a three-year initiative aimed at equipping 400 Nigerian youth with practical skills in STEM, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.
According to Chioma Aniagolu, Project Manager of EAE, “The BeMINT Project is a crucial step towards unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s youth. We’re committed to creating a future where young people, regardless of their background, have access to the practical skills and resources they need to succeed in the job market or as entrepreneurs.”
The project, which kicked off in October 2024, is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical education and real-world application. It targets young individuals from underserved communities, providing them with tools and resources to thrive in the workforce or become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
By offering a unique combination of STEM education and entrepreneurial skill-building, BeMINT fosters innovation, self-reliance, and career readiness. The project is implemented by EAE and primarily funded by BMZ and Siemens Stiftung.
“The BeMINT Project is a significant step towards addressing the skills gap and enhancing employment opportunities for youth in Nigeria,” said Aniagolu. “We believe that this project will have a lasting impact on Nigeria’s workforce and economy, promoting a new generation of skilled professionals and forward-thinking entrepreneurs.”
EAE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing sustainable development through education, with a strong emphasis on promoting science and technology education across Nigeria and Africa.
The organization’s mission is to expand interest and participation in STEM disciplines, encouraging collaboration and innovation among young Africans. Through initiatives like BeMINT, EAE continues to empower African youth and ensure a brighter future for the continent.
