“On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative, we pledge N100 million in support of the Five Cowries Arts Education Initiative,” Senator Tinubu declared. “Your support will help unlock the creativity, talent, and potential of countless Nigerian children who deserve the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”

The First Lady commended the Spouses of Heads of Mission for their service and commitment to Nigeria’s most vulnerable citizens, saying, “You are no longer just on official assignment in our country but worthy partners in progress.

Senator Tinubu also praised the founder of the Five Cowries initiative, Ms. Polly Alakija, for her dedication to arts and education in Nigeria, noting that “education is the foundation for true national development.”

The First Lady highlighted RHI’s interventions since its inception in 2023, including scholarships, bursaries, and infrastructural investments. “Through partnerships with AUDA-NEPAD, forty-three students are currently enrolled at the African School of Economics,” she said, adding that 5,100 bursary awards have been disbursed to female students and 40 Alternative High Schools for Girls have been established.

Senator Tinubu called on individuals and organisations to contribute to the Five Cowries initiative, saying, “Whether through financial donations, advocacy, or partnerships, your support will make a difference.”

The charity gala night aimed to raise funds to strengthen art education across Nigeria, with Lucrecia Downer, spouse of the High Commissioner of Jamaica, explaining that the event sought to “raise additional funds to strengthen art education across the country.”

Ms. Alakija, co-founder and CEO of the Five Cowries Arts Education Initiative, emphasised the transformative power of creativity in learning, saying that arts and culture should be accessible to all children, not just the privileged.

The event celebrated collaboration across borders for the common goal of uplifting Nigerian youth, with Senator Tinubu closing her remarks with gratitude. “I thank the Spouses of Heads of Mission in Nigeria, especially the organising committee, for this laudable event. God bless you all as you give. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
