EPL: He needs help – Peter Schmeichel worried about Man United star

Peter Schmeichel, the former custodian for Manchester United, stated that Kobbie Mainoo, the team’s young player, needs “a bit of help.”

This comes after the team’s unsatisfactory recent performance.

The 2023–24 football season at Old Trafford has seen Mainoo, 19, have a fantastic breakout season.

Under manager Erik ten Hag, he has become a mainstay, making 29 appearances in all competitions.

Despite a dismal campaign, he has been among United’s top players.

“The questions being asked of Mainoo this season is just ridiculous for a young player,” he said on Premier League Productions.

“To have to carry the team and have responsibility. He needs a bit of help and I don’t think Amrabat (re-starting with Mainoo in midfield v Arsenal) is that help. I think he is struggling on his own.”
