EPL: Merson Reveals The Team He Has Ruled Out Of Title Race

Former England international, Paul Merson, has declared that Manchester City will not lift the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City head into the three-week international break sitting three points ahead at the top of the league table.

Enzo Maresca’s side secured a 5-3 victory over Sunderland on Sunday, coming after Arsenal suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton.

However, Merson, speaking on Sky Sports, argued that Arsenal are currently a more balanced and solid side than Manchester City.

He said: “Arsenal had been ripped to shreds, fully deserved. I was thinking they’d win the league quite comfortably and not lose too many football matches. Have I got this wrong?

“Then I saw City against Sunderland and go, ‘no’. There’s no way Manchester City win the league.

“Going forward, Manchester City were good but at the back they were all over the place. It just catches up with you, especially against the big boys.”
