EPL: Nicky Butt names two leaders in Arsenal team

The ex-Manchester-United-player (midfield) has identified two leaders in the present-day Arsenal squad.

He provided his assessment of Arsenal’s 4-1 Premier League derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday during an appearance on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast with Manchester United icon Paul Scholes.

Butt pinpointed midfielder Declan Rice and defender William Saliba as crucial players for Mikel Arteta’s team.

His comments followed Arsenal’s victory over Spurs, thanks to two braces from Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres.

He underscored the leadership attributes of Rice and Saliba, declaring, “I am pretty sure Declan Rice is a big leader, I am pretty sure William Saliba is a leader, but they just need someone to rally them and say, ‘Lads, we can do this. We are a good team.’

“They proved that yesterday, and I get it, Tottenham were not at their best, but they won 4-1,” Butt said.
