Euro 2024: I understand how frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo is – Portugal goalkeeper, Diogo Costa

Diogo Costa, the goalie for Portugal, claimed he could relate to Cristiano Ronaldo’s frustration after the captain missed a penalty kick in Monday’s Euro 2024 Round of 16 match against Slovenia.

Costa made three saves to help Portugal defeat Slovenia 3-0 in a penalty shootout.

During the match against Slovenia, Ronaldo had failed to convert a penalty in overtime.

In his post-match interview, Costa stated the following after the game: “We all know that Cristiano is the hardest worker.

“I understand how frustrated he is because he devotes all his time to this. It’s a pleasure and an honour to be on the same team as him.

“We are a family, I really think this. I’m focused on making the best of these chances and I wanted to help the team. This is the most important thing.

“This is probably the best game of my life.”

Portugal’s next opponent in the Euro 2024 final eight is France.
