A young lady who was imprisoned for forcing her pregnant sister-in-law into labour by pouring boiling water on her claims that her act was an outburst of anger that went beyond what she had planned.

The victim is undergoing treatment at the hospital after suffering severe burns, particularly on her back.

Jamila Ishiaku, a 20-year-old woman who caused the damage and lives in the Yola North Local Government Area hamlet of Dubeli, claimed that she acted out of blind rage during a furious disagreement with the victim.

“I didn’t think it would go this far. I was just angry,” Jamila said in an interview.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, Adamawa State’s Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the suspect would be held accountable for her actions.

The assurance was given in response to the victim’s family’s court demands.

Nefisat Dahiru, the victim’s sister, stated that the family will be anticipating prompt action from the authorities.

Gambo Dahiru, the victim’s spouse, has also been complaining about this.

“My wife has been crying uncontrollably. I am seeking justice for her. The law should take its course,” Gambo said.
