The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the individuals selected to serve on its Primary Election Committees ahead of the 2026 Area Council Chairmanship elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The party shared the full list comprising committee chairpersons, members, and secretaries for all six area councils through a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday.
As detailed in the statement, the inauguration ceremony for the designated committee heads and secretaries is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The event will take place at the APC National Secretariat, located at No. 40, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, and is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
“For Gwagwalada Area Council, the committee will be chaired by Hon. Shafi’u Duwan, with Hon. Yahaya Shehu Maradun serving as secretary.
“In Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr. Habibu Ibrahim will serve as chairman, while Margaret Duru will act as secretary.
“Bwari Area Council will have Hon. Austin Agada as chairman and Hon. Sanusi Sa’idu Kiru as secretary, while Hon. Afolarin Mayowa Samuel chairs the Abaji Area Council committee, with Hon. Abdullahi Maharazu as secretary.
“In Kwali Area Council, the committee is headed by Dr. Akombo Benedict Imoter, and Hon. Gambo Rimi will serve as secretary.
“For Kuje Area Council, Barr. Yakubu Bello was named chairman, while Engr. Umar Shehu takes the role of secretary.”
