Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, denounced Rotimi Amaechi’s recent remarks and charged him with promoting violence and instability among Nigerians.

Amaechi has declared that Nigerians ought to demonstrate against their nation’s suffering.

In a statement obtained by ZINGTIE on Saturday, which was released by the Ministry of Defence’s Director of Information, Henshaw Ogubike, Matawalle issued a severe warning to the former Minister of Transport, pleading with him to refrain from making provocative remarks that jeopardise the peace and stability of the country.

Matawalle conveyed his grave concern on the perils associated with such discourse.

“It is both reckless and irresponsible for a former public servant of Amaechi’s standing to incite Nigerians against their own government,” he said.

“At a time when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to address the challenges facing the nation through various reforms that are yielding results.

“It is absurd, preposterous and shameful for anyone to exploit the genuine situation of our citizens for selfish political gain,” Matawalle added.

The minister reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s pledge to protect each and every Nigerian’s right to peace and security while issuing a warning that any attempt to stir instability in the nation will not be allowed.

“We will not allow anyone to fuel violence or manipulate the prevailing situation of our people. Let this serve as a final warning to Amaechi and his cohorts,” Matawalle stated emphatically.

“It is expected that Amaechi joins hand with the Government to move the country forward, rather he chose to stay aside with myopic assertions,” the minister added.
