After being left in a jungle in Akwanga town, Nasarawa State, a newborn girl was discovered alive.

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, locals in the A. A. Koto neighborhood, next to Hope Academy Primary School, rescued the infant.

According to police, the infant was allegedly abandoned by its mother, a final-year NCE student at the College of Education, Akwanga.

Later, with the help of her friends and classmates, she was arrested.

The woman’s motivation for committing the deed has not been explained.

Newborn baby dumps are becoming more and more common among young people.

A woman in Kebbi State was arrested by ZINGTIE for burying her infant alive.

The woman, who went by the name Maryam Atiku, covered the infant’s mouth, tied three pieces of fabric around her neck, and transported her to Malam Yaro bush.
