The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and GetBundi Education Technology have launched phase 2 of their digital skills training program for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The training focuses on Graphics, Digital Marketing, and Cybersecurity, as part of NITDA’s Digital Literacy for All Initiative (DL4ALL), which aims to achieve a 70% digital literacy rate in Nigeria by 2027.
According to NITDA, the DL4ALL initiative seeks to equip Nigerians in the informal sector with foundational digital literacy skills, enabling them to access online resources for education, employment, and financial services safely. The agency had stated that the initiative would be implemented through a multi-stakeholder approach, leveraging the expertise and reach of diverse stakeholders.
GetBundi had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) to empower students across federal, state, and private colleges of education with advanced digital literacy and key skills. The collaboration aims to train 2,900 students from 29 Federal Colleges of Education in skills like Graphics, Excel, Video Editing, and Digital Marketing.
By partnering with GetBundi, NITDA is equipping NYSC members with three skill sets that will make them instantly employable. The corps members were previously trained as Digital Literacy Champions and became NITDA ambassadors, sharing their knowledge in their places of deployment
