A senator from Nigeria named Ali Ndume has shared his thoughts on the current disaster in Maiduguri.

The flood calamity that struck Maiduguri is said to have caused over a million people to be displaced, properties to be destroyed, and at least thirty-four individuals to be confirmed dead.

Nonetheless, Nigerian Senator Ndume claimed in an interview with Arise News that the flood that struck Maiduguri had an impact on every state in the country.

Additionally, he insisted that because the Igbo ethnic group sells the majority of the state’s commodities, they are the ones most impacted by this tragedy.

According to thefrom “The Igbos in Maiduguri suffered most because they are the ones that sell most commodities; all their shops have been submerged.”
